Sweet surprises...

After dinner we ran a few quick errands and as we passed the duck pond by car, I look to see if there are any baby ducks yet...this IS the time of year. There ARE!

So I turn around, park the car, tell Evan to GET OUT of the car and he has no clue what is going on with me. Finally we walk the sidewalk to the ducks and he sees the first baby. "Mom, there's a baby duck!"

We grab the graham crackers that we just bought at the store, and make our way to make the tiniest crumbs, almost dust, of this stuff. These ducks, big and small were so hungry and we had them all to ourselves. One of those great magical moments with nature.

Evan even got a baby to eat from his hand which just amazed me. Brave little baby duck!

We feed the biggest duck, or is he a goose from our hands several times. We discovered if we talked to him in that high-pitch voice we use when we talk to our cat, that the duck liked it and he ate plenty right out of our hands.

Great day...

We took Mark to the airport.
We went to IKEA for cheap eats and to watch the planes take off.
We went to Marine drive to REALLY see the planes come and go and encouraged LOTS of truckers to HONK HONK as they drove past us. What fun we had.
We fed baby ducks.

Perfect ending to a perfect day!
