Kindergarten Roundup

Last week was the Kindergarten Roundup at Evan's new school, Springwater. We're all excited for him to attend! On this day, Evan got to meet his teacher Ms. Rae (again) and meet his new friends. There are LOTS of girls in this class!

There's another Evan in his class, so ours will go by Evan James at school. (Never did like it when kids get called by their name plus an initial from their last name...Tyler B. and Tyler H. I once heard Tyler H. say, "My name isn't Tyler H. it's just TYLER!" I made not then that if it came down to it, we wouldn't do 'Evan R.' we'd just use his wonderful middle name.) I wonder if there will be a Jim Bob or a Mary Ellen in Evan James' class!

On the playground, Evan was quick to show us he could climb the huge rock! This was a big deal! Last time he tried it he got about 1 foot off the ground and decided this wasn't for him. This time he found the right footholds and was on his way. We love the playground. Then he decided to show off a bit and impress his new teacher by going across the monkey bars (which he had never done!) and he did it for the first time as she watched! Way to go Evan James! There will be a couple of scheduled play dates over the summer at school for the kids to come together and play. This way all the kids feel like friends on the first day of school. How smart is that!?
