Time flies...

It's hard to believe how long it's been since I posted anything. So here's the update on what's been going on and where we've been.

Just as (bad) luck would have it, I got sick prior to Mom flying in from Michigan. Thankfully, I was 5 days ahead of her visit and didn't have to hang out at home while she was in town. 103.8 fever for 2 days nearly rocked me, and I am thankful for medicine that heals me and helps me to feel more normal. The respiratory stuff really gets the better of me... Enough of that.

So Mom arrived on the 22nd and we crammed as much fun as we could into her 6 day stay. Looking for something different, we decided to head off to Bend, Oregon for the weekend to see what the fuss is all about. It was crisp and full of plenty to do for the outdoor enthusiast. We shopped, walked, ate, drove, and checked it out. The city is pretty, full of shops and eateries and has the backdrop of every different snow capped mountains. Why can't we see those same mountains from THIS side of the Cascades is beyond me. Probably has something to do with elevation.

Evan became even braver in the pool and decided to jump off the side after a running start. He then did this countless times! Later he began testing himself at 'swimming' across the pool. It started with a push off the side and some kicks, and then he'd emerge about 1/2 way across and try it again. He's putting it together and it was fun to watch him try to figure it all out.

We checked out Ka-Nee-Tah on the way home, since I'd never been, but had heard of it. Hard to believe the built a resort/casino in the middle of nowhere. That is about as 'nowhere' as you can get!

The weather was perfect for Mom's visit which is always a plus. It gave us the opportunity to get out, shop, walk, and have lunch in the sunshine. Now the rain is here, mom is on her flight home, and the house is quiet with our own little routine again. Love you mom.
