Taylor

This is Taylor. A.k.a Evan's sweetie pie. Evan doesn't like us to 'talk about it,' but he says that with a smile on his face so we know it's really okay, we're family after all.

When we had a group play date over Christmas, I snapped this picture of Taylor. I simply said, "Taylor!" and this was the ballet-like post ball-release pose she gave me. She's pretty precious.

Evan goes for the same type year after year, and we'll see if the same holds true as he ages. Brunette. Pretty. On the quiet side.

Yesterday I got an email from Taylor's mom. It simply said, "We're having a party for Taylor's 6 th birthday and we can't invite the whole class, so Taylor has invited the girls, plus a few neighbors. She has asked specifically for Evan Ross to come so an invitation is in the mail. There will be other boys from the neighborhood, but none from the class. Hope you can come."

Are you kidding? He wouldn't miss it!

So today we went shopping for Taylor's gift. It's fun to consider the possibilities when it comes to gifts for girls. We had fun looking, and each time we found something good, Evan copied my favorite phrase..."Let's keep that in mind (referring to a possible gift that we like) while we keep on looking in case we find something we like better."

We'd walked every isle of the store...clothing, arts and crafts, toys...we found some great stuff that we would have gone back to, and we weren't in a hurry, and then he spotted the Valentine's isle of the store...

THIS is what I want to get Taylor! She'll love it. She'll probably sleep with it. So...I gave in. I am sure she has a zillion stuffed animals. But does she have a pink bear that is big enough to be a pillow? Maybe, but she doesn't have one from Evan Ross! I had to wrap it up, because I think Evan would have liked to love on it a little before he gives it up. Evan took this picture and I know he is going to be so excited to go to her party and that THIS pink bear will be a hit.

There was one bear that said, "Hugs and Kisses," but he said that one was too girlie. (And I wouldn't have let him get it anyway.)
