Summer is...
climbing trees,
kids on scooters,
walkie-talkies (even if all they say is, "Can you hear me," and "Roger that.")
making forts,
sleeping in the closet,
being barefooted,
the screen door left open,
the screen door left open again,
Popsicles,
going to the library (Why do we have to read in the summer?)
riding bikes,
hide and go seek,
sidewalk chalk,
bouncing on the trampoline (with the sprinkler going underneath it).
Quiet mornings for mom,
staying up later for Evan,
and sleeping in for him too,
ice cream cones with the chocolate smile to prove it,
playing in the creek,
boots full of water,
dirty socks,
catching bugs,
raising tadpoles,
watching butterflies emerge from their cocoons,
going to the park,
playing in the water and not caring that you don't have a swim suit on,
playing with friends,
getting dirty,
and we're only on day 3. Lots more to come!
